Investment group Babcock & Brown Ltd says it has received expressions of interest from a number of parties about setting up strategic relationships.
The firm said it will review the proposals and that there is no certainty an agreement will eventuate.
B&B is undertaking "a process to review the expressions of interest it has received from a number of parties to establish a strategic relationship with the firm.
"The process is at a preliminary stage and there is no certainty that any agreement will eventuate.
"As the process has only recently commenced, no formal timetable for resolution of any agreement has yet been determined although Babcock & Brown would expect the process to continue into the new year."
Earlier this week, B&B managed investment fund Babcock & Brown Power Ltd, which owns the retail arm of Alinta, said it would seek a takeover suitor or buyers to snap up strategic packages of its assets.
