Avalon Minerals has appointed a new chairman to lead the company’s development of its northern Sweden minerals tenements, particularly its Viscaria copper project.
Avalon announced today that UK-based executive Crispin Henderson would be appointed as non-executive chairman, succeeding current char Tan Sri Abu Sahid Bin Mohamed immediately.
Mr Henderson has 45 years of experience in financial services and funds management, most recently with PwC and Threadneedle Investments.
Managing director Jeremy Read said the company was pleased to welcome an executive of Mr Henderson’s calibre to the board.
“With his extensive financial and investment experience, he is very well qualified to chair the board, assist with our strategy to develop European investment and provide a significant contribution at the board level,” Mr Read said in a statement.
“I look forward to working with Crispin and advancing the development of our key asset, the Viscaria Copper project in northern Sweden.”
Avalon has recently released a string of positive drilling results for the Viscaria project and is set to kick off a scoping study.
At 1:00PM, WST, Avalon shares were steady at 6 cents.
