Michael Malone is a technology entrepreneur and company director. He is the former managing director of iiNet, which he founded in 1993 fresh out of university in the garage of his parents' home in suburban Perth. His past roles also include deputy chairman of Autism West and board member of Scitech. Mr Malone was awarded the 2011 Australian Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009 CEO of the Year in the Australian Telecom Awards, and First Amongst Equals in the 2006 Business News 40under40 awards. Since his resignation from iiNet in early 2014, Mr Malone has been appointed to multiple boards as a non-executive director, including Seven West Media, NBN Co and Hong Kong-based satellite service provider SpeedCast. He is also chairman of ASX-listed Superloop.
