Yara Pilbara Nitrates

Yara Pilbara Nitrates is a joint venture between Yara International (55%) and explosives manufacturer Orica (45%). Yara International also owns Yara Pilbara Holdings (formerly Burrup Holdings), which in turn owns Yara Pilbara Fertilisers (formerly Burrup Fertilisers).

YP Nitrates has constructed a technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) facility adjacent to YP Fertilisers’ existing liquid ammonia plant on the Burrup Peninsula. When commissioned the TAN Plant will be owned by Yara Pilbara Nitrates, operated by Yara International and marketed by Orica Mining Services Pilbara, a joint venture operated by Orica. The product manufactured at the TAN plant will be distributed into the local Pilbara market by OMSP.
