K+S Group is a German-headquartered multinational salt and potash producer. K+S, until 1998 a subsidiary of BASF, formed through the gradual consolidation of many East and West German rock salt and potash mining operations, hence the 'Kali und Salz' that its current name derives from. The oldest of these companies was founded in 1889. K+S, now the world's largest salt producer with 14,000 employees in 2015, also has significant potash operations in Europe and Canada, and fertiliser production facilities worldwide.

In 2016 K+S announced it was evaluating development of the $350 million Ashburton salt project 40km south-west of Onslow.
