Perth-based Kinetic IT has been recruited by the Australian Taxation Office as its lead enterprise service management partner, in a contract valued at $50 million.

As part of the ATO’s IT Strategic Sourcing Program, Kinetic IT has been selected to deliver work in an initial three-year contract with an extension option.

The scope of work includes delivery of service integration and management of IT systems, collaboration with the ATO’s current and future strategic IT partners to enhance workforce experience, and continued service delivery to taxpayers.

Kinetic IT will additionally assist in digital transformation projects and provide training for about 500 ATO employees.

According to Kinetic IT, it has started a transitioning period into the ATO environment and is scheduled to start operations in early 2024.

Services are set to be delivered at the ATO office locations in Perth, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney.

Kinetic IT chief executive Michael North said winning the ATO contract recognised Kinetic IT’s national expertise and sovereign capabilities in IT service management.

Kinetic IT is recognised for our customer-centric service delivery, providing outcomes-based solutions aligned with industry best practice,” he said.

“Our team is looking forward to transitioning into the ATO over the coming months, playing our role as a key technology partner for the agency and enabling increased innovation and collaboration between IT providers for the ATO.”

Kinetic IT has been awarded several contracts in the past, including two major contracts with the state government.

In early 2022, Kinetic IT was awarded a $72 million contract involving the delivery and management of ICT services at Department of Communities sites across WA.

Six months earlier, Kinetic IT was awarded a $504 million contract leading an alliance of four ICT firms to provide end-to-end ICT services and create a local innovation centre for the Department of Education.

Kinetic IT is the biggest information and communications technology company in Western Australia, according to Data & Insights.

The company has more than 1,300 workers across Australia.
