Board Moves April 16, 2021

Altura Mining has appointed highly experienced lithium industry executive Alex Cheeseman as chief executive and John Lewis as company secretary. Mr Cheeseman has a well-established global network of lithium and battery metal related suppliers, end-users, investors and financiers. He was previously Altura’s general marketing manager and will be responsible for re-establishing the company as a battery materials focused entity and enhancing shareholder value. Paul Mantell, who joined the board in March 2008, has resigned as an executive director. Mr Mantell played a significant role in the financing and development of Altura’s projects in iron ore, coal and lithium.

Mineral Commodities has appointed Zamile (Madiba) Qunya as non-executive director. Mr Qunya has been a director of the company’s South African subsidiary Mineral Sands Resources, which owns the Tormin Mineral Sands Mine, since November 2014. He has been instrumental in the establishment and development of the company’s operations in South Africa.
