Will Gibaud Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, BAE Systems Australia

Will is the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and a member of the Management Board for BAE Systems Australia. In this role, he leads all Corporate Affairs, Communications, Government Relations, Engagement, and Marketing activities, ensuring alignment with the company’s overarching strategy and brand positioning. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Will is responsible for protecting and enhancing BAE Systems Australia’s reputation and brand, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, and driving strategic initiatives that support business growth, market awareness, and government engagement.

Prior to this role, Will was Head of Government Relations at BAE Systems Australia, where he managed and strengthened the company’s relationships with government both domestically and internationally. Before joining BAE, Will was a senior diplomat with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, most recently serving as First Secretary Defence and Security in Canberra. In that role, he led government-to-government discussions on defence capability and exports in Australia and New Zealand, contributing to Australia’s selection of the UK designed Type 26 frigate for the Royal Australian Navy’s Hunter Class.

With over a decade in the UK Government, spanning the diplomatic service and senior Whitehall positions, Will brings extensive experience in international relations, defence, and strategic communications. 

In the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours, he was appointed to the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for services to international trade.
