New Aditya Birla MD, among this week's moves

Board changes

Neela Patnaik has been appointed managing director of Aditya Birla Minerals, replacing Sunil Kulwal who has held the role since 2008. Mr Patnaik is a chartered accountant who has previously worked at the Steel Authority of India, Mittal Steel in the Philippines and Jindal Steel.

Wayne Zekulich has joined Cleveland Mining Company as a non-executive director. Mr Zekulich is an investment banker and currently director and company secretary at JAXON. He is a former chief financial officer of Gindalbie Metals and Oakajee Port and Rail.

Enerji has appointed former Fortescue Metals Group director, shared services Peter Thomas as a non-executive director, following the resignation of Justin Audcent, who has been made a principal at Crowe Horwath.

Compass Resources non-executive director John Allen has been made deputy chairman, following the resignation of managing director James Carr, who remains as a non-executive director. Sara Kelly has been appointed as legal counsel and company secretary.

Name change

Specialist consultancy The Lonsdale Group is now known as Continuo. The firm continues to be run by director Anna Dartnell, who won a Business News 40under40 award in 2013.

Energy and Minerals Australia is now known as Vimy Resources.
