Former Youth Focus chief executive Fiona Kalaf has been appointed to the board of arts organisation Perth Festival.

An experienced chief executive and board chair, Ms Kalaf is currently the general manager of markets and innovation at Perth-based international human services organisation APM, and deputy presiding member of health promotion agency Healthway.

She joined Healthway after it was revamped in 2016, following a 2015 Public Sector Commission report which uncovered misuse of tickets and hospitality by the previous board members and staff.

Ms Kalaf was previously chief executive of not-for-profit organisations Youth Focus and Lifeline WA, and has held senior executive positions at Wesfarmers, Commonwealth Bank and HBF.

She is also a former chair of the Art Gallery of Western Australia and a former board member of the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority and the Australian Institute of Management, WA.

“I am excited to be joining the board of Australia’s longest-running arts festival with a global reputation for diversity and excellence,” Ms Kalaf said.
