Perth-founded cloud computing company Zettagrid has completed its acquisition of the VMware cloud assets of DC Two from Adisyn.

The company plans to upgrade and transform the DC Two infrastructure in Darwin, making the Northern Territory the company’s sixth availability zone.

The acquisition is worth up to $1.4 million, payable over two installations.

The first tranche of $850,000 was paid today, with the second tranche of $550,000 payable in nine months, subject to various adjustments determined by annualised revenue of the VMware customers at competition date.

Zettagrid and DC Two use similar technologies which will simplify the migration to the Zettagrid platform for customers.

At the end of the migration, DC Two customers will have access to Zettagrid’s self-service cloud portal and automation.

Zettagrid chief executive Nathan Harman said he was pleased to announce the acquisition.

Adisyn customers will be able to experience the benefits of the scale and cloud automation that Zettagrid provides, and the transaction provides us with the new cloud availability zone in Darwin,” he said.

The agreement will also see Zettagrid and Adisyn form a strategic partnership, which will allow Adisyn to focus on their managed IT and cybersecurity services whilst being able to leverage Zettagrid cloud infrastructure.

Adisyn managing director Blake Burton said the move would allow the company to focus its attention on building service-based solutions for defence-linked SME businesses.

Zettagrid is a renowned player in VMware hosting, backup, disaster recovery and internet services.
