Construction firm Georgiou Group has won a contract to build Primewest’s $31 million multi-storey office development in Joondalup, which will be occupied by state government departments.

The eight-storey building, named Prime House, will be tenanted by the Department of Water, Department of Environment Regulation, and the Environmental Protection Authority when the development is completed in early 2018.

In total, about 800 government staff will take up the 9,600 square metres of floor space.

Georgiou chief executive John Georgiou said innovation was key to securing the project.

“In order to convert this tender our team focused on value engineering and utilising innovative materials and methodologies to provide significant cost savings for our client,” he said.

“Since 2006, we’ve worked hard to build a reputation as a quality builder of commercial developments with the majority of our past projects tenanted by the state government.”

Primewest director David Schwartz said the new building would be a landmark location for Joondalup.
