Perth-based Fleetwood Corporation has won an $8.7 million contract to build new educational program buildings at several custodial centres for the NSW government.

Fleetwood said the buildings would be installed at various custodial centres in NSW to provide new inmate program delivery spaces.

The buildings will also provide staff accommodation.

Work under the contract is expected to be completed within the next four months.

“The contract represents an important step in the company’s progression into new markets,” Fleetwood said in a statement.

“The company has also recently established a manufacturing facility in NSW, and this is expected to open new opportunities, particularly in the government and affordable housing sectors.”

Fleetwood shares were 1.4 per cent higher to $2.08 each at 11:40am.
