Dix chief at Newera, among this week's moves

Board changes

Fitzroy Resources founding managing director Will Dix has been made chief executive of Newera Resources. Mr Dix, along with Russell Lynton-Brown and Tom Henderson, will resign from the Fitzroy board on completion of a capital raising and share consolidation, with Tim Grice and Peter Webse to replace them.

 

Resource Development Group director Andrew Ellison has assumed the role of managing director, following the resignation of Jeff Brill, who is stepping down as part of cost saving initiatives. Mr Brill will remain as a consultant until the end of the financial year.

 

CI Resources has appointed Phosphate Resources boss Lai Ah Hong as managing director, following completion of its acquisition. Former WA Minister for State Development Clive Brown, Christmas Island businessman Chan Khye Meng and former Hong Leong Group executive Phua Siak Yeong have been made non-executive directors, while Phosphate chief operating officer Kevin Edwards has joined as joint company secretary.

 

Former CBH Group chief financial officer David Moroney has joined St Barbara as an independent non-executive director. Mr Moroney is currently a director of the Geraldton Fishermen’s Co-operative and of WA Super.

 

Atlas Iron non-executive director David Hannon has resigned. Mr Hannon first joined the WA iron ore miner’s board in 2004.

 

Shao An Lin and Li Ge have joined the board of Gindalbie Metals as non-executive directors, following the resignations of Tang Fuping and Yu Wanyuan. Mr Shao is currently the general manager of AnSteel Mining Group and a director of Karara Mining. Mr Li is deputy director of financial operations at AnSteel.

 

IMX Resources has appointed acting chief executive Phil Hoskins as CEO.

 

Emmerson Resources has appointed Allan Trench as a non-executive director, following the resignation of founding director Simon Andrew. Dr Trench is a geologist/geophysicist who conducted an independent review of Emmerson in early 2013.

 

Stone Resources Australia vice president Zu Guo Fu has replaced Yong Han as chief executive officer, with Mr Han remaining on the board as an executive director. Mr Zu was previously executive director and general manager of a subsidiary of China National Gold Group Corporation.
