An agreement has been reached between Aquila and Bowen Central Coal Pty Ltd to form a Joint Venture to be known as the Bowen Central Coal Joint Venture to explore, develop and mine for coal on Aquila's Bowen and Surat Basin coal exploration permits in Queensland. Aquila will vend into the JV the majority of its current coal portfolio and BCC may earn up to a 50% equity interest by free carrying Aquila for up to $5 million by meeting Aquila's obligations with respect to contributions for all JV expenses.
