Our weekly appointments wrap includes James Tranter, Cameron Morse, Shaun Duffy, Shane Murphy, Grant Thornton, Ben Suda and Mike McKenna

Managing directors James Tranter and Cameron Morse have been appointed to co-manage FTI Consulting’s strategic communications business in Perth, replacing senior managing director Shaun Duffy who has resigned to work as a consultant. Mr Tranter currently manages the investor relations and Mr Morse runs the corporate and public affairs division. Shane Murphy has been promoted to the position of managing director.

Grant Thornton has hired former KPMG audit partner Brent Steedman to lead its audit team in Perth. Mr Steedman has over 30 years’ experience advising a range of Australian and international listed and private businesses on financial reporting, assurance and advisory services. He established and led KPMG’s Oil and Gas Centre of Excellence from 2003 until 2017.

Ben Suda has been appointed director of sales and marketing at Advanced Braking Technology. Mr Suda has spent most of his career in the mining industry, but had also worked in construction, agriculture and chemical industries. He most recently worked as head of business development and sales at Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions. Mr Suda will be a member of the ABT executive management team.

Mike McKenna has been appointed to the Tourism Council WA’s board. Mr McKenna started as the chief executive of Optus Stadium in November 2016 after 11 years on the executive team at Cricket Australia, where he was responsible for marketing, venue operations, commercial revenue, event management and promotion. He has also worked for Essendon Football Club and Arthur Andersen.
