ASX-listed exploration and development company Alliance Nickel has announced its new chief financial officer will be David Edwards. Mr Edwards has more than 30 years’ international experience as a chartered accountant and prior to this role, he was interim chief executive officer and chief financial officer at Triton Minerals. He has also worked as Clough general manager of finance.

Laura Benger has been promoted to Miners’ Promise chair after 18 months serving as a non-executive director. Ms Benger has worked at BHP for the past two years and is currently head of planning and projects for Australia and Singapore, according to LinkedIn. She also has a unique connection to the mining industry with her family history in the sector spanning across four generations.

Former Netball WA, West Coast Fever and Swimming WA boss Simon Taylor has been appointed as RugbyWA chief executive. Mr Taylor was Netball WA chief executive from May 2012 to November 2020, which included oversight of the entire Netball WA and West Coast Fever operations. During this time, he also worked as SportWest deputy chair and director. Mr Taylor will replace former Australian rugby union player Nathan Charles who resigned in November.

Mining engineer Mark Davies has been appointed as general manager of Black Cat Syndicate’s Paulsen Gold Operation located in the Eastern Pilbara region. Mr Davies has worked at several other ASX-listed resource companies including Westgold Resources, where he worked as underground manager and later as general manager for the company’s Fortnum Gold Operations. Prior to this, he was Pantoro general manager.

Hastings Technology Metals has recruited two new executive employees, with Teck Lim appointed as chief financial officer and Dirk Adams as project director. Mr Teck is a chartered accountant of 20 years and was the lead project financial advisor for Hastings when he was working at KPMG Corporate Finance. Mr Adams also has two decades of professional experience, but as head of project management and construction. Prior to this role he worked at Albermale Lithium and BHP.

Mining media services provider Aspermont has appointed Josh Robertson to its newly-created chief marketing officer role. Mr Robertson will manage group marketing and investor relations, and will develop new content and products to serve and broaden Aspermont’s investor base. Prior to this role, Mr Robertson was chief marketing officer at VCCP Media’s Singapore office and has worked several senior management roles in the UK.

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has made Ben Bradstreet partner in Perth as part of its projects and construction team. Mr Bradstreet is an energy and infrastructure lawyer and has worked on projects across across Australia, Asia, the Middle East and the United States. He will transition to Norton Rose Fulbright from his role at King & Wood Mallesons. Prior to this, Mr Bradstreet spent nearly 10 years working in London, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Grower Group Alliance has appointed agribusiness executive Chris Wyhoon to its board for a two-year term. Mr Wyhoon is a farmer and agribusiness consultant based out of Avon Valley and is the founder and chair of WA Regenerative Livestock Producers (WARLP). Mr Wyhoon also serves on meat and livestock advisory groups including WA Livestock Research Council and CarbonEdge Development Advisory. GGA has also re-elected two former board members Nicole Batten and Debbie Gillam.
