StudyPerth has recruited Derryn Belford as chief executive. Ms Belford most recently worked as project director at the Department of Jobs, Science, Tourism and Innovation, where she was involved in the international education recovery process. Ms Belford worked at Tourism WA for 13 years in roles including acting managing director and executive director destination development.

David Creasy is joining Satterley Property Group as chief financial officer. Most recently, Mr Creasy was chief financial officer and company secretary for four years with property fund manager Primewest. He previously worked for Coles Group as head of finance. Originally from Canada, Mr Creasy worked in several leadership roles in Vancouver, including as senior vice-president, finance and corporate services and chief financial officer at Copeman Healthcare.

Nashid Chowdhury has been appointed investment and trade commissioner for India-Gulf. Ms Chowdhury has almost two decades of investment and trade and economic development experience across state, federal and local government, including at North Metropolitan TAFE, the City of Joondalup and the Victorian Department of State Development, Business & Innovation. She previously resided in the United Arab Emirates and is proficient in Hindi, Bengali and Urdu.

Tom Stephens will be chair of the Kimberley Development Commission. A member of parliament from 1982 to 2013, Mr Stephens worked in various roles, including as minister for regional development. He now serves on the board of MG Corporation, opera company Lost & Found, and the Regional Development Trust.

Hall & Wilcox has appointed special counsel Christine Scott. Ms Scott practices in all aspects of property law with a particular focus on acquisitions and disposals, leasing and property development. She joins the firm from Jackson McDonald where she worked as special counsel.

John McGrath will be part of the Burswood Park Board, replacing Janelle Marr. Mr McGrath worked in journalism before pursuing a career in politics. He was elected as the member for South Perth in 2005 and held the seat until he chose to retire before the 2021 March election. He held several ministerial and shadow ministerial positions, including serving as shadow minister for racing and gaming; sport and recreation from 2017 to 2020.

Ray White Commercial WA has hired Luke Pavlos to lead its state leasing team. Mr Pavlos works as the director of capital markets at Lease Equity. He previously has served as senior negotiator at MMJ Real Estate and a senior negotiator, commercial leasing and capital markets, at Cushman & Wakefield, as well as holding roles at Landgate WA.

Stork Davies Legal Advisors has hired Ben McPherson as special counsel. Mr McPherson has more then 11 years’ experience practising in general commercial law in Australia and New Zealand. He joins the firm from Fletcher Law where he worked as a senior associate.

Graeme Fox is joining Galan Lithium as chief financial officer. Mr Fox is a CPA qualified accountant and a business analyst with more than 25 years’ experience in the mining, contracting and transport industries. He has recently held roles at BHP, WMC and Macmahon.

Price Sierakowski Corporate has rebranded as Palisade Corporate, with Adam Sierakowski, Brett Molony and Connor Graham remaining as company directors. Paul Price, one of the former named partners, left the firm in 2019.
