Graeme Yukich’s European Foods has purchased Blue Cow Cheese, which went into administration last month.

The acquisition adds to Mr Yukich's growing portfolio of food and beverage businesses.

Business News understands that Blue Cow faced increased competition around 2017, and in response it expanded to Queensland and diversified its product range, which resulted in losses.

Business News also understands that the Blue Cow Cheese branding will remain.

Cor Cordis’ Jeremy Nipps and Clifford Rocke were appointed as administrators late last month.

Mr Nipps said no employees were made redundant as a result of the purchase.

“From an employee perspective I think it’s a good result,” he said.

Blue Cow Cheese was established in 1998 by Nicholas Bath and is based in Belmont.

Mr Yukich was the founder of Entrust Private Wealth Management which he sold to Euroz in 2015.

He has since shifted his focus to the food and beverage industry, serving as the executive chairman of the Oakover Group.

The Oakover Group consists of a set of companies owned and operated by the Yukich family, with a focus on wineries, including Oakover Wines, and coffee roasting.

The Re family descendants sold the European Foods business to the Yukich family in June 2018.
