Welcome to the new look Business Alerts.

You will have noticed we have made a few changes to the design, and added some new features:

-          A single column makes this easier to read on mobile devices

-          Photos are added to every story

-          The BNIQ snap shot bar takes up room at the bottom, linked to a main story

-          An extra advertising position is created

Having a ‘mobile first’ strategy is now essential which means you have to design first for a mobile device, and then for the desktop PC.

This means you have to take out the complexity and scale things back for simplicity, before designing back out for a PC environment.

For instance, you no longer have to pinch the screen to ‘blow up’ the text. We hope this innovation means the ‘quick news fix’ provided by the daily business alerts is an even more enjoyable process.

We think you’ll enjoy seeing thumbnail images against every story, which really lifts the design; and in all things we look for clean lines and a nice, smooth user experience.

It is all part of the fast evolving world of publishing and our efforts to keep up with the needs of readers.

Business News went through a major redesign last year, with a new name, logo, newspaper design. We also launched the business intelligence tool, ‘BNIQ’, last September, and the weekly colour publication went full gloss in January 2014.

We would love to get some feedback on these new email designs and the other innovations we have recently brought to the market, plus any other ideas from our users.
