Reported sales this week rebounded 5% back to a similar level before the recent long weekend.

House sales were the big mover up 6% to 570, again similar to a fortnight ago and the highest level since a spike in late July.

Multi-residential sales were also up 4% to 122 but remain some 16% down on the year to date average which has been driven in part by solid reporting of pre-sale activity.

There has been a healthy 5% increase in listings over the week after dipping in recent months since the last peak of 10,938 in late June.

The soft turnover has seen the average selling days for the September quarter lift to 59 days.

The preliminary rental vacancy rate of 4% for the September quarter reflects the 6% fall in property available for lease across the quarter.

That said rental listings have increased 3% this week.
