Perth-based online movie rental business Quickflix has signed an agreement with Sony Computer Entertainment to stream its movie subscription service to Playstation 3 users.
Quickflix chief executive Chris Taylor said the deal would give the 1.3 million Australians who own a Playstation 3 access to on-demand streaming movie services.
“This is a significant moment in the evolution of IPTV delivered entertainment in Australia and a major development for our company,” Mr Taylor said.
The Quickflix movie streaming service will provide users access to a film and television series library containing more than 50,000 titles, he said.
Quickflix’ stock was up 11 per cent on the news, trading at 8.7 cents at 11:45AM (WST).
