Former Toll Group executive Paul Ebsworth has been appointed chief operating officer of the Perth-grown auto retailer and logistics firm Automotive Holdings Group

In his new position Mr Ebsworth will be based in Melbourne and will oversee all of the company's logistics operations in the eastern states.

Mr Ebsworth was the director for Toll Domestic Forwarding and was responsible for all freight forwarding activities across Australia and New Zealand.

He was also the executive sponsor for Toll’s major customers including Coles, Woolworths, BlueScope Steel and Arrium.

AHG managing director Bronte Howson said the appointment reflected the growing strength of the group's logistics businesses.

“This is an exciting time with the recent acquisitions of Scott’s Refrigerated Freightways and JAT Refrigerated Road Services adding to our Rand and Harris capabilities and cementing the group’s position as the largest refrigerated transport and cold storage provider in Australia,” Mr Howson said.

Mr Ebsworth said he was happy to be joining the company during an exciting period of growth.

“AHG is already one of the largest service providers in Australian logistics and I’m confident we can deliver further growth while releasing significant benefits from the synergies available across the group’s business units.”

AHG’s share price rose by 0.5 per cent to $3.70 per share at 1pm.
