NFP Boards - The Clontarf Foundation

The Clontarf Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that is using Australian rules football as a means of encouraging Aboriginal boys to improve their school attendance and progress to full-time employment.

Ross Kelly (chairman) – has a number of corporate roles including chairman of Wood & Grieve Engineers and Otraco International Limited and a director of Clough Limited.

Gerard Neesham (managing director) - was previously WA Water Polo Association executive officer and a former coach of the Fremantle Dockers.

Donella Brown – is principal of Clontarf  Aboriginal College Waterford.

Danny Ford – is executive director Aboriginal housing and infrastructure Department of Housing and Works.

Andrew Hopkins – is manager, Bunnings Property Management Limited.

Marilyn Morgan – is Department of Industry & Resource manager Indigenous exports.

David Neesham – is Health Department of WA director dental health services.

Harry Neesham – is executive director Work Safe WA.

Brother Kevin Ryan – is Christian Brothers province leader.

 

Clontarf has been running its program since 2000 and has managed some positive outcomes. Indeed, of that group three students were drafted by Australian Football League Clubs Dion Woods went to Fremantle, Andrew Krakouer went to Richmond and Mark Williams to Hawthorn.  Of its 2002 intake, 75 per cent have found full-time employment
