Limerick joins EPA board

Fremantle Ports chairman Jim Limerick has been appointed to the board of the Environmental Protection Authority.

Dr Limerick will join incoming chairman Tom Hatton, deputy chairman Robert Harvey and Elizabeth Carr and Glen McLeod on the independent board.

Environment Minister Albert Jacob said Dr Limerick was appointed for a three-year term, beginning in early November.

Dr Limerick has a proven record in delivering on substantial policy and strategic planning matters to ensure further development is managed in an environmentally and socially sound way for future generations,” Mr Jacob said.

Dr Limerick is also chair of Ports WA and a member of the advisory board to the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority.

He was formerly director general of the Department of Industry and Resources.
