Legend extends third mineralised intrusive in Fraser Range

ASX listed Legend Mining has extended the strike length of the third mineralised intrusive body recently identified at the Rockford project in Western Australia’s highly prospective Fraser Range region to more than 100m.

Assays from a further 12 aircore holes have returned significant pathfinder results of 30 metres grading 0.31% nickel, 0.03% copper and 0.04% cobalt from 78 metres down-hole including 8m @ 0.45% nickel, 0.03% copper, 0.04% cobalt from 98m and 16m @ 0.22% nickel, 0.02% copper and 0.02% cobalt from 92m.

The company discovered the third mineralised intrusive body earlier this month, located about 1.8km northeast of the initial intrusive find at Rockford.

Legend Managing Director Mark Wilson said: “These new assays extend the footprint of the nickel-copper anomalism at the third mineralised intrusive body to >100m.”

“They essentially reaffirm my comments from the 20 June 2018 ASX announcement that the prospectivity for nickel-copper-cobalt deposits at not only Area D but the whole of our Rockford Project and indeed the entire Fraser Zone is considerably enhanced.”

Legend is now planning to start regional aircore drilling over selected targets in the southern Rockford project.

The company will also carry out a full geological and geochemical assessment of Area D drilling results and integrate those results with an Area D geophysical review to assist in the planning of future programs.

Legend believes there are numerous other intrusive bodies which may be potentially mineralised throughout the wider Area D prospect, based on existing geophysical datasets.

Legend is exploring Rockford with renowned ore finder Mark Creasy, who holds 30% of the project. It lies within the “Fraser Zone”, which is considered highly prospective for clusters and pods of high-grade nickel-copper-cobalt mineralisation based on the mapped geology of the region.
