Independent Safety Heavy Weights Put TopTorque in The Spotlight

Safety standards can make or break the integrity of a workplace. With the new Work Health & Safety laws taking effect nationally, workplaces are increasingly being forced to ask themselves, ‘How important is safety to me’?

Independent safety company, Fides Safety Management, understands the severity of workplace incidents and the grief they cause, which is why they are urging for Engentus products to be implemented into all industrial workplaces. Engentus knows that safety is fundamental to a productive, sustainable, and positive workplace, which is why Engentus has designed tools that advocate for the safety of all workers.

Fides Safety Management have been leaders in endorsing safer workplaces for over 15 years, working alongside some of the big players in the mining and industrial sector both nationally and internationally. Their team are passionate about initiating positive change for greater WHS and endorsing the wellbeing of workers across all industries.

Bill McSharer, CEO of Fides Safety Management (FSM), has over 40 years of commercial experience and sees the cracks in company’s safety standards everyday despite the urgency imposed by the new WHS laws.

“The new WHS laws affect everybody. The act specifically imposes a duty on the board, its directors, officers [CEO and CFO] and those in leadership,” Bill McSharer states.

“Basically, should an adverse incident occur, and should something be found to be the fault or the non-performance of a director, officer or those in leadership, they become potentially liable.”

In response, FSM urges companies to use the safest, most innovative technologies, highlighting the TopTorque by Engentus as a step up above the rest.

The TopTorque, a digitally controlled reactionless tooling system, is intelligently engineered to be the safer alternative to other nut removal and installation methods.

Bill explains the magnitude of value that TopTorque provides by sharing, “Through independent assessment of TopTorque as a tool, the summary finds that this tool removes the need for a reaction arm, which effetely eliminates pinch and crush points.”

Bill goes on to say, “It is lightweight meaning that a diverse workforce can use this tool. There is also a reduction in vibration, it is certified from that calibrated tension, a reduction in noise, and more importantly, this tool does not require a main to electricity or a hydraulic process, eliminating cords that may cause slips and trips.”

Independent safety companies like FSM are integral to the internal processes that companies are beginning to adopt in efforts to align with the new WHS laws. FSM advocating for TopTorque allows companies to see a pathway into creating these safer environments, within the mining, engineering and construction industries.

“The TopTorque brings a very unique process,” Bill explains.

“Two major issues tend to arise in the mining industry; firstly, the abrasiveness of the work, and the second is worn nuts. This becomes a real problem to remove because you may find yourself using hazardous removals such as grinding, oxytorching and hot works. TopTorque removes the need for these unsafe practises.”

With the laws around safety in the workplace tightening, and with the liability now falling on those in leadership positions, it is more important than ever that companies consider the wellbeing of their team and pay attention to the quality of tools that they equip their workers with. Independent safety company, Fides Safety Management, believes that innovative technologies such as the TopTorque by Engentus are paving the way for safer tooling.

CEO of FSM, Bill McSharer, sees this tooling system change workplaces for the better.

“Safe place of work, safe system of work.”
