The Hockeyroos have secured Perth-based global human services provider APM Human Services International as the team's major new sponsor.

APM will be the new ‘front of shirt’ partner signing a 3-year term as the Hockeyroos major partner as well as an official Partner of the Kookaburras, and Hockey Australia’s disability service provider.

The sponsorship fills a hole left by Ausdrill after its parent Perenti ended the partnership at the end of its third three-year term.  Ausdrill's founder Ron Sayers, who passed away earlier this year, established the sponsorship in 2012.

The men's hockey team, the Kookaburras, is sponsored by Fortescue Metals Group.

Hockey Australia said the partnership will see an increase in all-ability hockey sessions, particularly pre-international hockey matches in Australia, along with fast-tracking Hockey Australia’s inclusive hockey program footprint.

The announcement comes ahead of next month’s FIH Women’s World Cup and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

“Securing a company of APM’s calibre and reputation is an outstanding result for the Hockeyroos, Kookaburras and hockey in Australia,” HA chief executive David Pryles said in a statement.

“APM’s purpose, values and what they stand for strongly aligns with Hockey Australia’s values so we are delighted to have the APM team on board with us.”

“APM is making a positive impact to many people in Australia and around the world and are about inspiring excellence and empowering people to realise their ambitions and aspirations.”

Starting out as a small team in Perth in 1994 led by founder Megan Wynne, APM has grown to become an international human services provider with more than 9,500 employees and 1,000 locations across Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Europe, North America, and Asia.

Group chief executive Michael Anghie said the company was pleased to get behind the team as they prepared for the FIH Women’s World Cup followed by the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

“APM is very proud to partner with the Hockeyroos, Australian hockey and to support all-abilities hockey and the inclusive hockey program,” Mr Anghie said.

“Sport inspires and brings people together as participants and supporters, and the Hockeyroos through their success and player engagement within the community play an important role in supporting inclusion.”

“The Hockeyroos are great role models for all Australians, and we look forward to following their success,” Mr Anghie said.

For the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022, which starts on 1 July, the logo emblazoned on the front of the Hockeyroos shirt will feature APM Ingeus.

Ingeus is a leading international provider of government sponsored employment programs and people-based services that was acquired by APM in 2018.
