Diversified development and construction firm Georgiou Group is sharpening its eastern states focus, appointing a dedicated New South Wales general manager to grow its presence in new markets.

Georgiou said former John Holland executive Robert Monaci had been appointed as its inaugural NSW general manager.

The company was awarded a major land development contract in NSW earlier this year, by WA-based land developer LWP Property Group.

The $40 million deal, Georgiou’s first in NSW, will comprise the delivery of 250 housing lots over the next two years.

The scope of works includes the final preparation of lots for sale, including roads and utilities such as water, sewerage and power.

Georgiou Group chief executive John Georgiou said Mr Monaci was the ideal choice to lead the company’s NSW-expansion.

“Robert’s solid understanding of the engineering and construction industry will greatly augment Georgiou’s ability to sustainably grow the NSW business and the industries in which it operates,” Mr Georgiou said.
