Great Western Exploration has announced the appointment of Terry Grammer to its board as a non-executive director.

Mr Grammer has been a driving force behind some of Australia’s most successful resource companies and is one of the country’s most successful exploration geologists with a career spanning more than 40 years in Australia, Africa, Asia and New Zealand,” GWE said in a statement.

Mr Grammer was a founding member of nickel mining firm Western Areas in 1999, and held the title of exploration manager for the company for four years until retiring in 2004.

In 2010 he joined the board of Sirius Resources, which went on to make the Nova discovery recently reported, and holds the title of non-executive director, as well as chairman of Kin Mining

“His experience gained from a long and successful career exploration will be of significant value to GWE, as will his extensive network within the industry,” GWE chairman Kevin Somes said.

GWE’s shares closed for the week 6.12 per cent higher at 5.2 cents per share.
