Perth firm Euroz Hartleys has raised $400,000 during its fourth annual Commission for a Cause Day, where brokers donate fees from a full trading day to charity.

Proceeds were divided equally between Perth Children's Hospital Foundation, Lifeline WA, the Women and Infants Research Foundation and the WA Cricket Foundation.

The event raised $400,000 this year compared to $450,000 in 2021, $225,000 in 2020 and $195,000 at its inaugural event in 2019.

As WA’s largest stockbroking and wealth management firm, Euroz Hartleys chair Andrew McKenzie said he believed the firm had an obligation to give back to the community.

“Three years ago, we established our Commission for a Cause event where on this one very special day all our staff and clients provide some very meaningful support to WA charities and last year we raised a record $450,000,” Mr McKenzie said.

He said the Euroz Hartleys Charitable Foundation has donated $2.7 million to charities since it was established in 2006.

“Commission for a Cause shows what can be achieved when we come together and work as a team and I hope it inspires other organisations to look at how they can make a positive impact on their local community.”

One of the beneficiaries, The Women and Infants Research Foundation, will use its donation to further a study to identify whether a person is at risk of having a preterm birth.

Perth Children's Hospital Foundation planned to use the proceeds towards a surgery visualisation technology.

Lifeline WA will put the proceeds towards increasing volunteer hours, while WA Cricket Foundation said it would use the funds to develop its inclusivity-geared cricket programs.
