Frank Cooper has been made a trustee at not-for-profit business St John of God Health Care, and been appointed as a director of St John of God Australia.
Mr Cooper is a non-executive director of Woodside Petroleum and chairman of the Insurance Commission of WA.
He was business unit leader of tax at PwC until 2012.
SJOG has also appointed Melbourne-based Julie Caldecott to the board.
Dr Caldecott is a former director and partner at Boston Consulting Group.
