The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia council has elected Damian Collins as its new president.

Hayden Groves announced last week he would be finishing his term as president and the Reiwa council met today and elected Mr Collins to the institute’s top position.

Lisa Joyce from Joyce Property Investments was elected deputy president.

Mr Collins, who is a 40under40 award winner, has served on the Reiwa council since 2011 and became deputy president in 2015.

He has been in the industry for 25 years, and is the founder and current managing director of Perth-based property investment consultancy Momentum Wealth, and chair of commercial property funds management business Mair Property Funds.

Mr Collins completed a bachelor of business at RMIT University in Melbourne and a graduate diploma in property at Curtin University in Perth.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Mr Collins thanked Mr Groves for his hard work and dedication to the institute.

“The council and I are dedicated to continuing to build upon Reiwa’s 100-year legacy of advocating on behalf of our members and the WA public,” Mr Collins said.

“The WA marketplace remains a challenging environment for agents and vendors alike, and there is much work to be done as our local market begins its recovery.”

The Reiwa council also re-elected Joe White as chair of the finance and risk management committee.
