Trucking company CTI Logistics has paved the way for further expansion of its Hazelmere depot with the purchase of a 30,000 square metre property adjoining its existing premises.

CTI has recently built a two-stage, 14,000sqm warehouse on its existing 55,000sqm Hazelmere property.

Chairman David Watson said the new purchase would enable the company to proceed with a doubling of its warehouse space, with the potential for more expansion down the track.

In addition to as the extra space, he said, the new property gave the company access to a second street frontage, on Lakes Road.

The Hazelmere property was bought from a private investor for an undisclosed sum.

In March 2010, CTI Logistics paid $7.9 million for its initial purchase of a four hectare (41,556sqm) property on Bushmead Road, Hazelmere.

Mr Watson said the company’s expansion reflected strong demand for its trucking and logistics services, primarily from customers outside the mining and resources sectors.

Its major customers include Target and Mitre 10, according to a company presentation.

Mr Watson said CTI was continuing to fully utilise its leased warehouse space at Bassendean, after recently securing additional work in tyre warehousing and distribution.

In July 2013, the company leased an additional 9,000sqm of space in Bassendean.
