David Paull and Neil Lithgow will be retiring as executive chair and non-executive director of Aspire Mining respectively at the upcoming AGM at the end of November. Both Mr Paull and Mr Lithgow joined the board as part of the company’s acquisition of the Ovoot coking coal project in Mongolia in 2010, and its associated recapitalisation.

Australian public-listed wine distribution company DW8 has appointed Steve Voorma as chief executive, taking over from Dean Taylor who founded the company and was its first CEO. Mr Voorma is an internationally experienced executive with global consumer and digital media expertise working for blue chip brands. He will be responsible for the next phase of growth of DW8’s Marketplace and Fulfilment businesses.

Triton Minerals has appointed non-executive director Peng Zhang as non-executive chair. Mr Zhang joined the board in August 2022, and takes over the role from Max Ji who remains on the board as a non-executive director.

Paul Burton has resigned as non-executive director of Western Mines Group in order to focus on other professional commitments. Mr Burton has been involved with the company in its early days, through IPO and its first year as a public company.

Westgold Resources has appointed David Kelly as non-executive director from 5 November and Phillip Wilding as chief operating officer. Lisa Smith will resign as joint company secretary but retains her role as general counsel. Mr Kelly is a qualified geologist and mining executive with extensive gold experience across the entire value chain from exploration to development. Mr Wilding has been with the company in operational roles since its inception, and has held the role of acting chief operating officer since May 2022.

Xantippe Resources has appointed John Featherby as executive chair, taking over from Imants Kins who will remain on the board as a non-executive director. Mr Featherby has extensive experience in the stockbroking and wealth management industry. Xantippe has also appointed Carlos Arecco as non-executive director from 14 October. Mr Arecco is a successful businessman in Argentina who has built a major private conglomerate in the fields of water, gas, industrial installations, airports, communications and the naval industry. Richard Henning has stepped down as managing director, and Argentinian-based directors Juan Manuel Santos and Carolina Arecco will become executive director for South America and a consulting advisor respectively.
