Board Moves June 22, 2023

Australian Finance Group has appointed Lisa Bevan as chief operating officer. Ms Bevan joined the company in 1998 and has been its company secretary since 2001. She will resign as company secretary, with current general counsel Michelle Palethorpe taking over the additional role.

Dr Geoffrey Xue has resigned as a non-executive director of Avenira after two years on the board. Eddy Cheng has been appointed as his replacement, as a nominee of Au Xingao Investment. Mr Cheng has experience in business development, strategic planning and market analysis.

Dr DongYi Hua has resigned as a director of VDM Group. He joined the board in August 2013 and had held the roles of managing director, chief executive and executive chair during the 10-year period.

West Cobar Metals has appointed Matt Szwedzicki, a founding member of the board, as managing director. He takes over from chief executive David Pascoe who will transition to head of exploration and technical services, allowing him to focus on the technical work required to advance the company’s portfolio of high quality rare earth, lithium and copper assets within Australia and the USA. Kevin Das, executive director since March 2022, will become a non-executive director.
