Construction has started on boutique developer Norup + Wilson’s $190 million Mount Pleasant project, The Precinct, following the selection of BGC Australia as the preferred builder earlier this week.

The 22-storey mixed-use development will feature 192 apartments, with views across the Swan and Cannning rivers, as well as a range of premium amenities including 10 restaurants and cafes on the ground floor.

Norup + Wilson director John Norup said buyers would be able to customise apartments, benefit from low strata fees and enjoy technological advancements such as keyless locks, with the first residents expected to move in by early 2020.

BGC senior contracts manager Chris Spooner said starting work on The Precinct marked the third recent construction project with Norup + Wilson

The Precinct is Norup + Wilson's latest development in the works, with The Crest Burswood under way, and receiving the green light from the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority for its 99-apartment development, The Beach Shack Scarborough, last month.

Together with the Precinct, these projects represent more than 450 apartments in Norup + Wilson’s development pipeline.
