Former Rio Tinto iron ore boss Chris Salisbury is joining Infinite Blue Energy’s board. Mr Salisbury worked at Rio Tinto for 30 years, including more than four years as a member of the executive committee. He resigned from his position at Rio Tinto in December 2020. He is non-executive chair of Deep Yellow and a non-executive director of BCI Minerals.

Thomas McPhee has been appointed to the Magistrates Court of Western Australia. Mr McPhee most recently served as special counsel (criminal law) at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. He worked as a senior prosecution adviser in Papua New Guinea, a principal federal prosecutor at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and as senior assistant state prosecutor at the State Solicitor’s Office.

Hall & Wilcox has hired Rosemary Roach as partner and Nicholas Beech as special counsel in its Perth commercial practice and national employment and safety capability. Ms Roach has more than 20 years’ experience in employment, work health and safety and discrimination law and previously served at Corrs Chambers Westgarth as a consultant on workplace relations. Mr Beech joined the firm from King & Wood Mallesons, where he was special counsel.

EBM Insurance & Risk has announced Craig McNaughton will be part of the organisation’s Bunbury office as an account manager. Mr McNaughton was previously at fellow insurance company MGIB, where he worked for three decades.

Berkeley Research Group has established a Perth office which will be led by Aaron Howell. Mr Howell will assume the role of managing director. He joins the company after working as a senior advisor- head of oil and gas Asia and as Citigroup Investment Banking director global energy.
