Grant Thornton has welcomed Joanne Esterhuizen as partner, audit and assurance, in its Perth office. Ms Esterhuizen has more than 15 years’ experience in audit and assurance with knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and internal control. She joins the firm after working at Deloitte for six years. Ms Esterhuizen has also worked for PwC in South Africa and Australia.

Chris Massey has been named to lead the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia. Mr Massey previously worked at the University of Western Australia, most recently as director of student life. Prior to his time at UWA, he worked with Cancer Council Western Australia and was a secondary teacher throughout the 1990s. Mr Massey will start at AISWA in September.

Virginia Withers has joined Black Swan State Theatre Company of WA as head of philanthropy. Ms Withers has more than a decade of experience in sponsorship and fundraising. Most recently, she was senior development executive at Edith Cowan University. Prior to this, she held sponsorship roles at the City of Perth and Audi Australia.

Zafra Legal has made Matthew Lenhoff and James Marzec principals of the firm and Cassandra Bailey has joined as a solicitor. Mr Lenhoff joined the firm in 2020 as senior counsel, after working at Williams + Hughes. Mr Marzec has previously worked as special counsel and senior associate at Zafra Legal after joining the firm in 2016. Prior to this he was a solicitor at Wilson & Atkinson. Ms Bailey also previously worked at Williams + Hughes.

Global organisation World Masters Hockey has named Michael Henderson as chair of its newly formed medical advisory committee. Professor Henderson is the founder and chair of Emergency Triage Services, as well as charity organisation International Skills and Training Institute in Health. His previous board roles include president of Hockey WA and executive chair of architecture firm Carabiner. 

Real estate agency Burgess Rawson has promoted Luke Randazzo to the position of associate director at its Perth office. Mr Randazzo started at the firm as a trainee after graduating from the University of Western Australia with bachelor of commerce and economics degrees. He became a sales and leasing consultant in 2016 and was promoted to manager in 2020.
