The Market Herald has unveiled the appointment of Twila Jensen as chief operating officer. In this role, Ms Jensen is set to lead capital market businesses across Australia and Canada. She has more than 20 years’ experience in capital markets and in the media and marketing of public companies. For half of this time, Ms Jensen worked as a key executive at Stockhouse Publishing. She was recruited as a director at The Market Herald in January.

Cushman & Wakefield has promoted Zaahen Kahn to senior research analyst for the real estate company’s WA capital markets team. Mr Kahn previously worked as senior research analyst at Sheffield Property before he joined Cushman & Wakefield in April 2022. Mr Kahn is also the co-founder and director of music management company 6K Management, which has managed Perth hip hop artists since it was founded in early 2020.

Global law firm Herbert Smith Freehills has announced the promotion of Jane Ballard to partner at its Perth office. Ms Ballard first joined the law firm in 2010 and previously worked at its London office for three years in corporate energy and infrastructure. Ms Ballard has experience advising on transactions and projects in the energy and natural resources sector.

Daniel Hill has been appointed as partner at law firm Kingston Reid and will be based at its Perth office. Mr Hill was brought on as partner for his speciality in work health and safety and his experience representing energy and resource companies. Prior to this role, Mr Hill worked at Mills Oakley as special counsel for WHS and crisis management.

Perth’s largest accounting firm Deloitte has selected Tim Richards to succeed Michael McNulty as office managing partner. Mr Richards is an audit partner with 30 years’ experience and is also the firm's global client service partner for Woodside Energy. Mr Richards transferred to Perth in 1997 and later had a stint with EY before joining Deloitte in 2004. Mr McNulty intends to continue his roles with a number of key clients and will retain his positions on the Deloitte Australia board and The Deloitte Foundation.
