AMCOM Telecommunications Ltd has entered a 20-year agreement with South Australian Broadband Research and Education Network (SBRENet) to build, manage and access an extensive fibre-optic network throughout Adelaide. Amcom will contribute approximately 11 per cent of the construction costs to the $7.35 million project, whch is funded by SABRENet. Construction is expected to take 12 months and has been subcontracted in back-to-back arrangements with Amcom’s principal contractor, which will also be financing Amcom’s contribution to the construction cost over a five-year period.
