iiNet's TransACT wins 10-year government deal

Internet service provider iiNet’s subsidiary, TransACT, has scored an $8.6 million contract to provide data centres for the Department of Finance and Deregulation.

The contract is part of a ten-year multi-agency interim consortium agreement for data centre facilities, managed by the federal government’s information management office.

TransACT chief of federal government and ACT, Ivan Slavich, said government agencies would be able to purchase tailored amounts of data space through simplified procedures under the agreement.

“Ten-year agreements allow organisations to invest with confidence and this lengthy agreement is proof of the quality of TransACT’s locally-based infrastructure,” Mr Slavich said.

“We’re committed to meeting the department’s stringent requirements and providing the outstanding customer service that the iiNet group is known for.”

iiNet said it has invested in a 4.5mva power and support infrastructure upgrade to increase the capacity of its advanced data centre facilities.
