Engineering company WorleyParsons Ltd has been awarded a five-year maintenance contact at BP's Kwinana oil refinery, expected to generate revenue of $70 million.

The contract represents an extension of Worley's existing role at the refinery and continues its growth in Western Australia.

The company announced in December it had won three major contracts for Woodside in the oil and gas sector that were expected to generate $320 million in revenue.

The BP contract involves onsite engineering and support for a portfoliuo of projects and modifications at the refinery, which is the largest in Australia processing 135,000 barrels of oil per day.

Worley said it expected to generate $70 million of revenue if activity continued at levels that have been typical over the past year.
