Troy Felt credits the GFC as making him a better businessman, with stronger negotiating skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude.

As the sole director of property developer and residential builder Builton, Mr Felt saw the recession, his first, as an opportunity to address the market’s needs.

It was during this time that he launched Aspireon, a residential developer focused on stylish affordable housing. He redirected the bulk of the construction activity within his group away from luxury homebuilder Platinum Homes to his new venture.

The diversification of his group to other areas enabled Mr Felt to succeed during the GFC, with the group’s profit increasing substantially during that difficult time.

While he has tackled his own challenges head on, Mr Felt is also helping those less fortunate, designing housing products that can fit one family and another couple in order to provide affordable rental accommodation in a climate of skyrocketing prices and high demand.
