A 6 per cent increase in reported sales this week has lifted the total to its highest level since the June quarter.

All market sectors contributed to the increase with house sales up 2 per cent whilst the choppy multi-residential and land sales were up 21 per cent and 19 per cent respectively.

Closer inspection indicates that house sales north of the river which is defined by the Swan and Helena Rivers fell 2% per cent this week to 316, down from a peak of 335 in late October.

South of the river, reported house sales were up 6 per cent to 310, their highest level since late July.

Multi-residential sales, not surprisingly are broadly split 60:40 north and south of the river.

Listings have increased a further 2 per cent this week and passed through the 13,000 mark, their highest level since May 2012 when stock was trending down.
