Terrain vectors in on hidden gems along Goldfields Highway

Terrain Minerals looks to be vectoring in on gold mineralisation hidden below surface dirt at its Wild-viper prospect lying adjacent to the Goldfields Highway, 68km south of Leanora in WA.  Terrain said encouraging first pass drill results from its maiden drill tests at Wild-viper confirmed potentially widespread mineralisation suggesting it could be on the edge of something more significant.

The company said encouraging initial results from its maiden drill tests at Wild-viper included 1m at 2.09 g/t gold from 59m and 1m at 0.61 g/t from 65m in just one first pass drill hole. Interestingly, the ASX-listed explorer also confirmed a second hole intersected 2m at 0.89 g/t gold from 93m downhole and 2m at 0.65 g/t gold from 100m which are thought to be part of a broader anomalous zone hinted at by a 10m cross-section at 0.46 g/t gold from 93m.

Whilst width and grade are at the low end of the scale, the company said these initial results are positive and significant as they are drilled in an area of very limited exploration with the fresh ground blanketed by a shallow layer transported alluvial dirt.  Anomalous gold readings have also been seen in two other drill holes.

It may be that these first up results are just an early sniff of things to come for the Justin Virgin-led Terrain as these early drill holes are widely spaced with the surface locations selected visually by the company’s geologists.

The company also said it sampled various artisanal workings ahead of rolling out the drill rig with some solid rock chip results recorded, including 17.1 g/t, 7.95 g/t and 4.38 g/t gold from three separate samples taken from mineralised veins in three separate historical shafts.

After renewing its Wild-viper tenement and getting a few early indicators of what lies beneath, Terrain looks to have enough encouragement to bundle up a fresh rig and get back in the field to continue honing in on what it hopes will be a fresh mother lode, or perhaps even a ‘snake pit’ of gold mineralisation.

With a number of assays due in soon from recent drilling at its Smokebush prospect in WA’s Murchison goldfield, Terrain could be set to deliver a steady stream of gold-rich news flow over coming weeks.
