Tambourah Metals has partnered with the nation’s science agency to develop exploration activities at its lithium project in the Pilbara.

The Subiaco-based junior explorer struck the partnership collaboration with CSIRO under the agency’s Kick-Start program for work at its Russian Jack lithium project.

The Kick-Start program is designed to help startups and small to medium enterprises access dollar-matched funding for research and development activities with CSIRO.

Tambourah Metals was founded in 2020 and debuted on the ASX in August 2021 with an $8 million initial public offering.

The company issued shares at 25 cents apiece under the IPO.

Today, Tambourah Metals shares closed at 9.7 cents, down 12.79 per cent.

The Russian Jack project is located within the Granite-Greenstone Terrane in the East Pilbara, which is an area known to have lithium bearing spodumene pegmatites, according to Tambourah.

The team will apply machine learning using a hyperspectral dataset to define first pass exploration targets across the project area.

“TMB is pleased to be working with Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO, to help generate new knowledge and develop new technologies to increase confidence in the exploration for lithium bearing pegmatites over large areas in difficult terrains,” Tambourah executive chairperson Rita Brooks said.

“The collaboration will accelerate the identification of early-stage, high priority lithium bearing pegmatites.”
