Favourite holiday destination?

Hat Head, a small coastal town in northern NSW. Pristine coast, great fishing and a small bowling club with cold beer.

What is your pet hate when travelling on aeroplanes?

Being served my meal and then having the finished tray left in front of me for hours. I remember when the service was a little more personalised.

What's always in your carry-on luggage?

Noise-cancelling headphones and eye drops.

Favourite interstate/overseas restaurant/bar/hotel?

Mercure St Moritz Hotel in Queen-stown, New Zealand. Everything about the hotel is great, especially the spectacular views of the mountains from the bar.

You wish Perth could be more like ...

I wish Perth was more like the rest of the world and considered the consumer when deciding when shops can trade. Perth really has to get out of the 1960s in this regard. Our trading hours are arrant nonsense; we are being hijacked by a few vested interests.

You hope Perth always retains ...

I hope we retain our respect for, and connection with, our nation's indigenous cultural heritage. This week is Naidoc Week, a time for us to reflect on the place of indigenous people in our society. We need to open our eyes, minds and hearts to acknowledge past and current injustices.
