Sodexo Australia has secured two contracts worth $170 million to provide its accommodation, housekeeping and catering services at sites across Western Australia.

Workforce accommodation provider Ausco Modular and mining company First Quantum Minerals awarded the two contracts to Sodexo.

The Balcatta-based company is one of Australia’s largest employers offering a range of services.

It was ranked as WA's largest facilities management and caterers company by Business News' Data & Insights.

Sodexo will provide its employee services at four of Ausco’s accommodation villages across Australia, including the Kingfisher Village in Karratha.

The contract from First Quantum Minerals was awarded to Sodexo for work at its Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation in the Esperance-Goldfields region.

The scope of work for both contacts includes accommodation and village management, catering, housekeeping, grounds maintenance, tavern and retail services, health and recreation services.

“We made the decision in 2021 to focus our efforts in Australia on our energy and resources portfolio and continue to build our integrated facilities management and food services for the country’s resources sector,” Sodexo managing director Keith Weston said.

“Our contract wins with Ausco and First Quantum demonstrate how we’ve delivered on this promise as a result of our growing capability in the sector to tailor integrated service offerings to companies and a customer-centric experience to workers.

“I look forward to seeing our teams drive continual improvement on-site as we work towards a safer, respectful and inclusive resources industry for all.”

At the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation, Sodexo will deploy around 50 service workers to support about 450 residents with their dining, housekeeping and accommodation experience.

Under Sodexo’s five-year contract with Ausco, the company has employed around 150 service workers.

The contract includes the management of more than 2,200 beds across the four Ausco stayover villages.
