Complete Home Filtration was one of six local winners at this year’s Telstra Best of Business awards, 15 months after being a winner at the Business News RISE awards.

Other local winners included Kardan Construction, Rocky Ridge Brewing Co and Business Station.

Osborne Park-based Complete Home Filtration has achieved rapid growth across Australia from sales of its home water filtration solutions.

Led by chief executive Suzanne Dodds, it was named best startup at the 2020 RISE awards.

It has added to that by winning both the Embracing Innovation and Outstanding Growth categories in the 2022 Telstra awards.

It was one of the first startups in WA to gain financial backing from local venture capital fund BetterLabs Ventures, which is backed by the Royal Automobile Club of WA.

Rocky Ridge Brewing Co won the Promoting Sustainability award.

The brewery is repurposing waste water into fuel, adopting electric vehicles and returning 10 per cent of its profits back into the community.

Kardan Construction won the Indigenous Excellence award.

Shalom House, which runs a residential rehabilitation centre, won the Building Communities award while Ear Science Institute Australia won the Championing Health award.

Not-for-profit training organisation Business Station won the Accelerating Women award for its role in nurturing women in small business.

Its program targets women in micro enterprises and sole traders, and features workshops around social media, values and mission, personal development, image and branding, websites and technology, database management and client services.

Business Station managing director Colin Jorgensen said the program aimed to create small groups and cohorts of women who remained connected.
